The DB883 heavy oil piston aero-engine adopts technologies such as an opposed eight-cylinder structure, an efficient and reliable heavy oil compression ignition system, high-pressure common rail technology, a high-pressure ratio supercharging system, a lightweight design, and full authority digital control. It has the following application characteristics: 1. Low cost (only half of that of a turboprop engine with the same power, suitable for large-load and low-cost transportation); 2. Heavy oil fuel (normalization of military fuel, with good adaptability to airports); 3. Low high-altitude power decay (the maximum continuous power does not decay at an altitude of 4,000 meters); 4. Low fuel consumption and long endurance (it can reach 210-260g/kWh, which is 30-50% lower than that of a turboprop engine); 5. A wide range of application environments (it can achieve short takeoff and landing, with good adaptability to airports); 6. 100% independent intellectual property rights, 100% self-control, and 100% localization. It mainly solves the problems of long taxiing distance, small effective payload, and short Time Between Overhauls (TBO) of short takeoff and landing transport drones. It can be applied to the fields of low-cost, large-load, and short takeoff and landing transport drones.
